• First off, it really throws a wrench in the works for hackers. Even if someone figures out your password, they can’t get in without the second piece of the puzzle. With 2FA, accessing your account requires something you know (like your password) and something you have (like your phone or a special token).
• Secondly, 2FA helps block phishing attacks. That’s when crooks try to trick you into giving up your personal info. Even if you slip up and share your password, two-factor authentication keeps them out because they don’t have that second factor they need to log in.
